CLOSURES
I-95 (PGA Boulevard to Donald Ross Road)

Posted on 03/05/10
There will be alternating closures on northbound and southbound I-95, Sunday, March 7, through Thursday, March 11, to relocate the temporary barrier walls, pave and stripe the roadway. The contractor will close one lane at 9 p.m. and close a second lane at 11 p.m.  Two lanes will be opened at 5 a.m. and all lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. each morning.

A new traffic pattern began Tuesday, March 2, 2010 on northbound I-95, from PGA Boulevard to north of Military Trail. Traffic has been relocated to the inside lanes (formerly the median) over the PGA Bridge and the Military Trail Bridge overpass. Please use caution while traveling in this area and obey the posted speed limit.

A new traffic pattern is in effect on the northbound I-95 exit ramp to westbound PGA Boulevard and northbound on ramp from PGA Boulevard. There is a stop sign at the northbound I-95 exit ramp onto westbound PGA Boulevard.  This lane no longer merges. Advance warning signs are in place approaching the exit ramp and on the ramp to alert motorists.

PROJECT PROGRESS

A new traffic pattern on northbound I-95 went into effect on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the PGA Boulevard Bridge and Military Trail Bridge overpasses.  Barrier walls have been placed on the outer shoulders.  The new pattern shifted traffic at the northbound off-ramp to westbound PGA Boulevard and the northbound on-ramp from PGA Boulevard.  Motorists are urged to use extra caution throughout this area.

The planned southbound traffic shift on I-95 from the outside lanes to the inside lanes (former median) is expected in late March or early April 2010.
Construction on the northbound outside lanes at the Military Trail Bridge overpass is expected to begin the week March 7, 2010.  Equipment has been moved to the site in preparation for the nighttime operations.   Widening of the northbound outside lanes at the PGA Boulevard Bridge overpass is expected to begin in late March. The contractor will begin installing piles that will require a traffic shift on PGA Boulevard, in March.

Upon completion of the northbound bridge widening, the contractor will begin work on the southbound outside lanes.  This is expected to begin in mid-summer, 2010.

The contractor continues to fill the shoulder area on I-95 where the interstate widening will take place.

Periodic nighttime lane closures on mainline I-95, northbound and southbound, will continue throughout March 2010, for asphalt placement and barrier wall installation.
