PROJECT PROGRESS

The nighttime closure of Donald Ross Road underneath I-95 will continue to Saturday, July 31, weather permitting. The road will be closed 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, July 25, through Saturday, July 31, for additional bridge work.

All work will be performed at night. Each night, the contractor will set up the detour directional signs. The detour will be removed at 6 a.m. each morning. The traffic signals at the I-95 entrance and exit ramps will be on flashing red during the road closure. Motorists are reminded that flashing red lights are the same as stop signs. Police are stationed at the intersections to monitor traffic.

Eastbound drivers seeking to pass I-95 or to access the northbound entrance ramp to I-95 should take Jog Road south to Hood Road, then turn east to either Central Boulevard of Military Trail, and turn north to Donald Ross Road.

Westbound motorists seeking to pass I-95 or access the southbound entrance ramp to I-95 should turn south on either Central Boulevard or Military Trail, turn west on Hood Road, and north on Jog Road to Donald Ross Road.

The I-95 northbound and southbound outside lanes from north of Donald Ross Road to south of Indiantown Road will be closed 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, July 25, through Thursday, July 29, for sign installation, light installation and shoulder work.

Construction on two new northbound and southbound inside lanes and work within the median continue Monday, July 26, through Friday, July 30. The work is being completed in 2,000-foot sections from Indiantown Road south to Donald Ross Road to minimize impact to residents and motorists.

The contractor continues construction on the I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Donald Ross Road. Motorists should be aware of construction vehicles working on both sides of the on-ramp. Work on the southbound and northbound exit ramps and southbound entrance ramp at I-95 and Donald Ross Road, is nearing completion.

Widening on the northbound exit ramp from I-95 to eastbound Indiantown Road has begun at the north end of the project.

The contractor expects to begin cleaning and painting the sound wall in late summer 2010, weather permitting. The wall will be painted Sandalwood Brown.
