Palm Beach Florida - November 29 2015 to December 5 2015



Four people were sent to the hospital after their vehicle crashed into a tree in a Boynton Beach shopping plaza parking lot. The accident occurred at about 8:30 P.M. on December 1 in the parking lot at the intersection of Military Trail and Hypoluxo Road. Paramedics arrived quickly to the scene and were able to evaluate the injured occupants. The injuries were not life-threatening.

Palm Beach eatery, the Circle Brunch was named as one of the "100 Best Restaurants in America" by Open Table. This the second year for the restaurant to earn this honor, as it also made the group in 2013. Circle Brunch is considered an exclusive business with meals starting at $105 a person. The restaurant is only opened on Sunday, making it even harder to get a reservation.

West Palm Hospital will undergo another change of name after owners shift its branding yet again. This is the hospital's third name in the past four years. It is unclear what the new name will be, but owners say the name change will make the hospital part of the largest medical center in the county.

Local Events

Presidential candidate Chris Christie is scheduled to host an event in Palm Beach over the weekend. The New Jersey governor will also visit various organizations while he is in town. One location is the Caron Renaissance Drug Treatment Center, where he will play a role in a drug addiction discussion. Christie has been very vocal of his support for improvements to the treatment standards of substance abuse.


A top 2016 Florida Gator recruit backed out just a day after verbally committing to the team. Jayvaughn Myers, a Dade City Pasco cornerback, explained he had made the decision to decommit. Myers made his surprising announcement on Twitter, stating that he "just wanted to give an open door policy to every school to recruit me. Florida is still in consideration." Without Myers, Gators will still gain four other cornerbacks: Chauncey Gardner, Antonio Nelson, Aaron Robinson and Christopher McWilliams. The program's only concern is that the loss of Myers could mean that they will also lose wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers, Myers' half brother.

The state semifinals of high school football playoffs are underway and the time has come to see American Heritage-Delray face off against Trinity Christian. This class 3A game will take place on December 5 in Orlando. The game comes after last weeks regional match-ups between class 8A rivals, Flanagan and Miami Columbus. Flanagan took the game, 30 to 17. In class 7A, St. Thomas Aquinas and Braden River took to the gridiron. St. Thomas Aquinas was victorious with a final score 27-10.
