The Town of Palm Beach Florida Events for Nov. 2-8

The resort town of Palm Beach, Florida is an area where 80-degree weather prevails in the winter months, so events of all kinds are always going on. A mecca for Northerners and retirees, the town is also home to venues appealing to people of all ages and tastes. From community events to performances by local artists, Palm Beach has a lot to offer this November. This week’s events include:

  • “Illustrating Words: The Wondrous Fantasy World of Robert L. Forbes, poet, and Ronald Searle, artist” (60 works of creative poetry and watercolor artwork) - Tuesday, November 3 through Summer 2016 at the Mary Alice Fortin Children’s Art Gallery in the Society of the Four Arts, 2 Four Arts Plaza.
  • Fun Chefs Cooking Academy (Six-week children’s cooking class for ages 3-5) - Tuesday, November 3 and every week until mid-December from 10:30 am- 11:15 am for 3-4 year-olds, and Wednesday, November 4 and every week until mid-December from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm for 5 year-olds. Classes held at the Palm Beach Recreation Center, 340 Seaview Avenue.
  • Palm Beach Tennis Center Pro Exhibition (Tennis staff entertains with skills and humor enjoyable to people all ages) - Friday, November 6 starting at 6:00 pm at the Seaview Park Tennis Center, 340 Seaview Avenue.
  • Ghosts of Palm Beach Walking Tour (Take a scary walk through the town’s history; starts at the SE corner of Worth Avenue and South County Road) - Friday, November 6 & Saturday, November 7 from 8 pm-9:30 pm, and Sunday, November 8 from 7-8:30 pm. Reservations required and tours continue every weekend in November.
  • Met Opera: Verdi’s Il Trovatore (Encore performance) - Saturday, November 7 from 1-4:15 pm at the Walter S. Gubelmann Auditorium at the Society of the Four Arts, 2 Four Arts Plaza.
  • Lil Sluggers Baseball (Ages 2-5 with indoor classes and equipment included with registration) - Saturday, November 7 and every week until Dec. 19 from 9-11 am at the Palm Beach Recreation Center, 340 Seaview Avenue. Classes are hourly based on child’s age.
  • Select Soccer Academy Saturday Soccer Matches (Kids of all ages competing in weekly soccer games, times TBD) - Begins Saturday, November 7 at the Palm Beach Recreation Center, 340 Seaview Avenue.

The town of Palm Beach has numerous events throughout the year in conjunction with other area cities including West Palm Beach, Jupiter, and Palm Beach Gardens. The town is a part of Palm Beach County and is included in the Greater Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metropolitan area.
